The days not done yet
Only 27 miles of the highland way to go before a relaxin bath at the kings house hotel.
It was time for the boots to come out as the terrain would get rocky from here. The climbs and decent's to kinlochleven really punished the legs! Things had slowed down from hobble run to just keeping the legs moving. So unfortunately I only made it the road some 3 miles short of the days target of the kings house! I've never been so glad to see Graham (no offence Graham).
Don't let smiles fool you I wasn't leaning on the fence for a good pose!

Holly s!!!
That was a fun day if your Graham having jolly in the car! The day started with tough section to gairlochy
Then a nice flat run along the canal to fort William (the only flat stretch so far).
The last part of the Glen
Way through fort William never seemed to end. Not much fun when your left foots falling to bits and the only thing holding together is compeed and tape!
Nice A!
Needless to say thing did move to quick after that.
A feet up time before getting stuck in to the west highland way.

The last leg of the West Highland Way
After last night's long soak and a good breakfast our hero set off on his final journey, it's ONLY 32 miles says he,
The path follows the Bonnie Banks of Loch Lomond through Rowardennan, Balmaha, Drymen, before terminating at Milnagavie.
I can vouch for the midges being the most ferocious, I have the lumps and bumps to prove it.

Kingshouse to inversnaid
Having had a hot then cold bath to ease aching muscles Dave soaked his feet in White spirit to harden the skin, then tried to get a good nights sleep.
With a cheeky grin he he hobbled away from kingshouse at 09.00 and made his way Bridge of Orchy, Tyndrum, Crianlarich, then stopped for a well deserved rest in Inversnaid.
Only a mad man would think of doing this. Only a Lunatic would do it.
JOGLER'S on the move.
Tonight he had the luxury of luxuries, a hot tub all to himself to ease his aches and pains. Much more of this and he will think he is someone special.
Sunday 11 July 2010
Our hero left invergarry at 09.00 in pouring rain and as I write is nearing banavie where the caladonian canal terminates at the world famous neptunes staircase canal locks. Can he maintain the muscle tearing pace he has set, and will his feet last the day? Find out later.
